Assist the leadership with acknowledging that although such an absence is highly improbable and certainly undesirable, due diligence on the part of leadership or a board of directors in exercising its governance functions requires that it have an emergency executive succession plan in place. It is expected that this plan will ensure continuity in external relationships and overall staff functioning.
Draft a succession plan with customized procedures for the appointment of an acting chief executive officer and other executives in the event of an unplanned or planned absence.
Conduct strategic interviews of key stakeholders in a business or organization and compile the data for the board of directors in order to generate the plan.
Assist the Board of Directors with developing and adopting policies and procedures for the implementation of the succession plan.
Work with the leadership to ensure the continuous coverage of executive duties critical to the ongoing operations of the business or organization and its services to clients.
