I am Ellen Cokinos.
During my thirty-year career, I have dedicated myself to two things: my family and those who are in need —ones that never had a chance – the abused, neglected, underserved and victimized. I began as a social worker for Children’s Protective Services, eventually founding my own non-profit organization in Houston called “The Children’s Assessment Center (CAC),” where as an Executive Director, I gathered a community of talented professionals and passionate volunteers who revolutionized how severely traumatized children and their families were treated by large systems, while constantly offering them the opportunity to heal. In building the multitude of CAC programs, partnerships and its facility, we fought for those with no voice, learning many lessons along the way, but always moving forward. I learned how critical a trusted advisor can be, a confidant who could help me think strategically, to challenge me to be my best self - growing professionally and personally. And to just help me figure out how to do more mission and achieve my vision. That is why I became a consultant, to provide these services that I needed – to others.

Ellen Cokinos Consulting (ECC) is a highly-skilled Houston-based consulting firm dedicated to meeting the needs of nonprofit organizations. The goals of ECC are as varied as its clients. Since 1991 a respected and dedicated non-profit leader, Ellen Cokinos was Founder and Executive Director of the world’s largest center dedicated to the treatment of sexually abused children and their families, the Children’s Assessment Center, located in Houston, Texas. After serving the organization for over a decade, she became Chief Advancement Officer for Trinity Children and Family Services. While at Trinity, she directed the design and coordination of a long-term strategic development plan to maximize internal resources and expand external relations for the organization. In 2005, at the conclusion of her commitment to Trinity, she decided to offer her specialties – leadership mentoring, strategic growth, and fundraising counsel – as an independent advisor to a select group of widely-diversified clients.
